Abstract: Este trabalho analisa a representação feminina no subgênero slasher a partir do filme Pânico (1996), de Wes Craven, investigando como o longa simultaneamente reproduz e tensiona convenções clássicas do terror.

The main objective is to understand how female characters are constructed within a visual grammar that articulates spectacle, eroticization, and violence. Specifically, the study aims to historically contextualize the slasher genre, discuss the female body as a cultural sign, and examine the characters Casey Becker, Tatum Riley, Gale Weathers, and Sidney Prescott as variations of archetypes and narrative functions. The methodology is qualitative, combining bibliographic research and film analysis, drawing on theoretical contributions from Stuart Hall, John Berger, Laura Mulvey, and Carol J. Clover.
